Let's face it – you can't get very far in life without a car and not many of us can afford to fork over thousands of dollars from our bank account. That's why the top auto loans are in such high demand. The question is, where exactly do you find one (and do they even exist in today's world of predatory lending)? Star Reviews decided to take a look at Cars Direct and we liked how simple, yet intuitive the website interface was. Read on for our entire experience below.

Star Reviews' Favorite Feature:

We really like that Cars Direct offers help with finding manufacturer's incentives and rebates in addition to the top auto loans online. They were one of the only lenders we saw who did this. When you consider the fact that those incentives can equate to thousands of dollars in savings, it really makes a difference.

The Cars Direct Application Process:

Applying for a loan on the Cars Direct website is so easy a child could do it. You enter your personal information into a short form and it takes Cars Direct about 30 seconds to process your loan. Unlike many of the other websites on the Internet, Cars Direct doesn't just forward your application to a dealer so they can sell you a car and process your loan. Cars Direct works directly with the lenders who provide the auto industry's top auto loans. This results in no hassle, no annoying sales calls and no unpleasant surprises. We couldn’t have been happier with their application process.

Auto Loans Offered by Cars Direct:

Cars Direct focuses on auto loans for new and used car purchases made at a dealer. They do not offer auto loan refinancing or lease buy outs (although they do offer new car lease programs). It's also important to note that although financing is offered through Cars Direct, that is not what their site focuses on. Rather than being a car loan website, it's a car mall, lender, and information resource all in one.

Cars Direct Customer Support:

Cars Direct offers customer support via phone and live customer chat. However, we have to advise avoiding live customer chat at all costs. We connected to the service twice. Both times it seemed as though our chat session was immediately answered by a live rep. However, we were immediately "put on hold" both times and after five minutes of waiting (each time) we eventually gave up. Phone support, however, was much more helpful. We were able to speak with a rep almost instantly and not only did they answer our questions thoroughly, but they apologized for our live chat experience.

Upside:

Many website resources, fast loan application, direct lending.

Downside:

Chat experience less than ideal.
