SunBelt launched its own anti-spyware software that not only boasts a solid real-time protection, but also protects your privacy when surfing the internet. This anti-spyware software is called CounterSpy, and following is an examination performed by Star Reviews.

Using CounterSpy's anti-spyware software is an elementary experience, from installing the application to running our first scan. The beginner user will likely stay away from the advanced system tools settings, but otherwise the welcome screen is extremely detailed and straightforward.

The user looking to enable the real-time protection and in-depth scanning will intuitively know where to go as soon as the program opens. You can also analyze your latest scan, and verify if certain security areas of your system need your attention.

If this version scans faster than the previous, the latter must have been slow as heck, as our scan took more than 15 minutes and used most of our 1GB memory.

You can contact CounterSpy's customer support by phone, from 9am to 8pm, on weekdays. We attempted calling at 9:30 on a Wednesday morning, and low and behold, got trough on the second ring, no menu, no nothing. The best phone support we have seen by far!

There is also an online support form you can use to share your inquiry. We submitted a ticket, and received a personalized reply two days after. Lastly, you can join an online forum hosted by the spyware cleaner, and exchange with other counterspy users. Thumbs up for this feature, as we feel the power of Internet is based on the exchange of information.

CounterSpy is a noteworthy anti-spyware software. The price is good, features are powerful, and you can’t help but feel a little bit safer when you see the Counterspy icon in your system tray. CounterSpy is also Vista ready for those of you using that operating system.

Garbage

The subject says it all.... This software was one big chunk of Garbage, thats right with a cap G. Did not remove a single thing other then some cookies...spare yourself the waste of money and more important waste of time that you can never get back
